You may have missed the first heat of the Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Awards (Porter’s Bar, Cardiff, Mon 20 Apr. Tickets: £5) where comedians compete to win a chance to perform at The Glee Club and £1000, but if you’re looking for a bit of comedy to brighten up your Monday, you can still catch the second round.

Life can be pretty harsh at times, to say the least. But this time of life, finishing University, shouldn’t be. This odd limbo between ending life as a library hibernator, and beginning an actual life outside of a lecture room shouldn’t be one of those times. The one point when presented with no certainty, no routine, no structure.

If I were a car I be a Polo; reliable, sensible, but with a bit of encouragement, packs a punch every now and again. In first year I was a Land Rover — ploughing on full force in any conditions, without a care if I looked a bit rough around the edges. In freshers, my flatmate popped her head around my door and told me “You are winning the title for going out, and not making any fuss” and it was the best compliment ever; I had this down to a tee.

When ordering noodles, there are few things I love more than when they’re served up in authentic Chinese takeout boxes, the ones in Friends and 90s chick-flicks which always left us craving a good chow mien, and luckily, Wok and Go didn’t leave me disappointed on that front.
